Refund Policy
Last updated: May 19, 2026At TheChessLifestyle, we are committed to fair and transparent policies. This Refund Policy outlines the conditions under which refunds are provided for our chess coaching services. Please read this carefully before enrolling.
1. Free Trial Class
The free trial class is provided at no cost — no payment is taken, so no refund is applicable. There is no obligation to enrol after your trial.
2. Refund Schedule for Paid Packages
If you have paid for a coaching package and wish to discontinue, refunds are processed as follows:

| After 15 days or more than 4 classes attended | No refund — credit toward future classes may be offered at discretion |
3. Classes Cancelled by TheChessLifestyle
If a class is cancelled by us (coach unavailability, technical issues, or unforeseen circumstances):
- We will arrange a makeup class at the earliest mutually convenient time.
- If a makeup class cannot be scheduled within 7 days, you will receive a pro-rata credit applied to your next billing period.
- If 3 or more consecutive classes are cancelled by us without suitable makeup sessions, you may request a full pro-rata refund for the affected period.
4. Non-Refundable Scenarios
Refunds will not be issued in the following circumstances:
- Classes missed by the student without 4 hours' prior notice
- Classes attended but deemed unsatisfactory due to subjective reasons (e.g., "I didn't like the coach's style") after 15 days
- Disruption caused by the student's own internet connectivity, device failure, or electricity issues
- Student withdrawal due to loss of interest after more than 2 classes
- Purchases made during promotional offers or discounted packages
5. Refund Process
To request a refund:
- Email us at hello@thechesslifestyle.com with the subject line "Refund Request — [Student Name]"
- Include your name, the student's name, date of enrolment, and reason for cancellation
- Approved refunds will be processed within 7–10 business days via the original payment method
- Bank transfer fees, if any, will be deducted from the refund amount
6. Package Transfers
If you are unable to continue classes due to travel, illness, or other genuine reasons, we may allow a one-time package transfer (freeze or transfer to another family member) at our discretion. Please contact us to discuss.
