Chess in United Kingdom
The United Kingdom has one of the world's richest chess traditions. The English Chess Federation (ECF) maintains a rigorous national grading system, and UK scholastic chess is highly competitive — from county junior championships to the national Schools Team Chess Championship. The famous London Chess Classic, the British Chess Championships, and the 4NCL league attract players of every level.
For UK families, our online model delivers FIDE-rated instruction at a fraction of the cost of local private tutors, with GMT/BST-matched evening sessions that fit seamlessly around school schedules. We serve students across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
English Chess Federation (ECF) & UK Junior Chess
Our coaches prepare UK students specifically for the ECF grading system, county junior championships, national Schools Chess Championship, and the British Chess Championships. We understand the ECF grading bands (100-220) and build our curriculum to rapidly advance students through each level, from club player to county champion.
